Within very easy driving distance of your Villa, you’ll find more places to visit than you could possibly get through in a normal fortnight’s holiday. Many of our family customers have remarked that even a three week holiday simply isn’t enough time to see and do everything that’s available.
There is a wide range of activities both inside and out – and in Thailand you’ll probably be glad of the odd indoor activity during the hottest part of the day or as an alternative to the non-stop nightlife.
Shopping
If there’s one thing the Thais like then it’s selling things – and the opportunities for Retail Therapy in Pattaya are almost endless.
There are a number of covered, air conditioned malls (such as Royal Gardens Plaza and Mike Shopping Mall) where you’ll find a wealth of shops selling everything from the latest designer gear passing through the very latest in hi-tech gadgets and culminating in authentic Thai handicrafts.
Everywhere else you’ll find roadside stalls selling a variety of authentic and copy merchandise (clothes, gifts, DVDs, CDs etc.). The prices are surprisingly low, however, don’t be afraid to drive a hard bargain – the Thais expect it and it’s almost a national sport. You can sometimes get things for half the initial asking price – and it doesn’t hurt to try!! If you make an offer that’s too low, you’ll get a heart-warming smile and a ‘no thanks’ from the vendor.
Whilst you’re there, think about getting some made-to-measure clothes. There are hundreds of Tailor’s shops (generally run by Indian-Thai owners). You’ll be amazed at the price and the quality. If you’ve a suit at home that fits you really well, then take it with you. You can have copies made from it in different fabrics and be assured that it’s a comfortable fit.
